1938 Press Photo Ralph Koch Held by Police in Death of Infant Son in Chicago

Ralph Koch, 24, surrendered to Chicago police and said he had "lost his head" when he could not stop the crying of his 4-month old son, Tod, and slapped the baby. The baby died, and the father is being held without bail pending determination of the cause of the death.
