1940 Press Photo St. Michael's Cathedral in Conventry, England stands after raid

Description
The pockmarked tower of the church still pointed skyward after the city was destroyed by German "earthquake" raids. 1000 were estimated killed in the raid in the English town, now an industrial center.

Photo is dated 1940.
