1952 Press Photo Lois Johnson Attacked by Lion in State park Waycross Georgia

Chicago - Reported clawed by a lion in a state park near Waycross, Georgia, Lois Johnson, 2 1/2, is swathed in bandages as she hugs her new puppy in her home. Her parents said she was attacked after park attendants told them the animal could be patted. Twenty-three stitches were needed to close deep scratches on her head, neck and back.
