San Francisco California-At the end of his hemp rope, William Hemp makes a sketch of San Francisco California. After completing a 21 month trip around the world. Financing the journey by making and selling paintings en route. The 31 year old ex advertising man calls himself the "Madison Avenue Marco Polo." He left his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with $3,000 and all his belongings packed on his back. After crossing the Atlantic, he traveled mainly as a hitchhiker through Europe and Asia. Finally returning from the Orient aboard American President Lines' SS President Wilson.
