New York, New York - Alfred M. Lilienthal, President of the National First Voters League, swearing in various state organizers at the opening of the Organization's New York City headquarters. The purpose of the League is to "organize young voters of Maryland, Connecticut, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, Georgia, Kentucky, Colorado and South Carolina to prevent the threatened New Deal purge inaugurated by Hopkins, Ickes and other High Administration Officials." The aforementioned states, with the exception of Kentucky, have Democratic Senators who voted against the Court Bill and who are now up for re-election and renomination. Left to right are Alfred M. Lilienthal; Charlotte Cameron, Summit, New Jersey; Vivian Smith, Indianapolis, Indiana; Ann Whittingham, Secretary, Baltimore, Maryland; Katherine Burr, Atlanta, Georgia; Jay Lodwick, Vice-President; Connecticut; and Nelson Hazeltine, New York City.
