Jim Beatty of the Los Angeles track club breaks the tape in mile run time of 3:58.9 to shatter the indoor mile record at Times Indoor track meet at LA Sports Arena last night Beatty is member of the sub par 4 minute mile outdoors and is now 1st athlete to shade 4 minutes indoors
