Some of the 27 members of the newly created NYC charter revision commission as they held their first meeting in the Empire State Building this morning May 25th Alfred E Smith former Governor ofNY was appointed chairman of commission by Governor Herbert H Lehman who signed the bill creating the commission several days ago. Left to right seated are Frank J Taylor & Alfred E Smith chairman, Samuel Seabury arch enemy of Tammany and leader of Fusion ticket, Left to right standing John E Bowe Sr, Frank J Prial, prominent Tammanyite, george D Compton, Edward McMahon and Charles Tuttle The commission of 14 Tammany Democrats and 13 others including Norman Thomas, former Socialist candidate for President and Jpseph V McKee defeated recovery candidate for Mayor
