1928 Press Photo New York Mayor R.H.La Guardia and Rep. William I. Sirovich NYC

Congressman refuses a drink but it was wood alcohol with some of the splinters taken out the Congressman refusing to take the drink is F.H. La Guardia of New York and his temper is Congressman William I. Sirovich a New York Physician. Doc. Sirovich tried to give an exhibition on the floor of the house of how bootleggers removed poisons from alcohol and how the prohibition Bureau could make alcohol non poisonous and till impossible to drink. The Drink he offer La Gaurdia in this picture has been treated by Sirovich but was not poisonous. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 03-09-1928.
