1940 Press Photo New York Mayor F.H.La Guardia examine explosion at Central Park

Detectives Mayor F.H. La Guardia (center) Fragments of the bomb which was exploded against a wall in Central Park July 18th. The explosion heard a quarter of a while away frightened children playing in the Park. Bomb Squad Detective were seeking three men one of whom allegedly tossed the bomb over the wall near a children's playground Photo measures 8 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 07-18-1940.
