Gov. Thomas E. Dewey is shown as he presented the Annual Henry Pomeroy Davidson Memorial Prize to Frank Lavaty who by his courage has done most to further the ideals of the Institute, at graduation exercise April 28 of the Institute for Cripples and Disable 400 First Ave.diplomats were given to 106 Disable young men and women who have been rehabilitated at the Institute and now earn their own living Mr.LAvaty 30 of 1534 Ericson Place Bronx. was taught commercial art at the Institute after an arm had been amputated. He has become highly successful as an artist and artis agent and now employs some graduates of the Institute's Art class and artist. Other to obtain employment. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches.
