Description
With the mercury near zero, Mayor Laguardia took action to alleviate the suffering of NYC's unemployed by ordering the opening of armories in the city. The above scene, taken at the 155th Infantry Armory shows a group of men as they enjoyed a bit of boxing, while frigid winds shrieked outside.
