In an effort to prevent the threatened bus strike set for 4 AM on Friday Sept 12 Mayor ODwyer of New York today 9/11 invited officials of both the Transport Workers Union CIO and the New York Omnibus Corp to meet with him at City Hall. Shown leaving after the meeting with the mayor is the company group. Left to right General Boykan Wright Attorney Samuel Seabury Attorney Thomas Fennell Attorney and John E McCarthy President of the Omnibus Corp. Strike action was postponed pending outcome of a legal appeal by the bus company. Earlier in the day Supreme Court Justice Ferdinand Pecora upheld the TWO in its dispute with the company over pension rights. Photo measures 9.25 x 4.75 inches. Photo is dated 09-11-1947.
