Clarence J. Shearn, former Justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York, has been appointed by Governor Smith as the new investigator of the sewer graft in Queens to succeed Supreme Court Justice Townsend Scudder, who was held ineligible on the ground that a Supreme Court Justice may not hold any other office or public trust. Shearn is 59 years old, a graduate of Cornell and New York Law School, and is regarded an expert Trial Lawyer. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo is dated 3-2-1928.
