Pauline Rathbone age 5 and her 8 year old brother John are shown as they congratulated their mother in London over radio station WMCA. Their mother, Mrs Beatrice Clough Rathbonne born in Boston, became the 2nd American born woman member of the Commons March 11 by virtue of her unopposed nomination in Bodmin district. She takes the seat of her late husband Flight Lieut John Rankin Rathbone who was killed in action
