In one of the meeting rooms of the US Senate Building in a display that is being viewed with increasing interest by the country's solons. It shows various articles manufactured by niron in comparison (in price & quality) with similar articles manufactured in the United States. Legends alongside tell the story. The American article is made by workmen living under American conditions and getting American standard of wages. The Japanese article is made by laborers getting as little as .25 a day. The influx of the foreign product has caused mills & factories to close and has thrown thousands on the relief roles. Many who lost their jobs wrote to their Congressmen, That is one reason why this display is arousing interest. The Tariff Commission is how considering raising the duty on Japanese imports on certain products. Japan threatens to retaliate by purchasing her cotton in Brazil & other countries.
