A crowd inspects the tree in Central Park from behind which an unidentified man turned a shotgun on police attending the Police Honor Legion services August 14th seriously wounding Police Lieutenant James McDonnell 38 and less seriously injuring another policeman and a bystander before he was killed by a volley of shots from police revolvers.
