"For outstanding achievement and service to the nation", the Holland Society of New York presented the gold medal, awarded annually to Lt. Gen. Alexander W. Vandergrift, Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps. Lts. Gen. Vandergrift (left) is presented the medal by Ottomar H. Van Worden, President of the Society. Last year, Joseph C.
