1946 Press Photo New York Republican Dist Capt Joseph Scottoreggio attacked NYC

Scottoreggio was attacked and beaten by two unidentified men today as he and his wife were en route to the GOP clubhouse in the 18th Congressional District where Vito Marcantonio (D., ALP) and Frederick V P Bryan (Rep.) are fighting for election to Congress. Mrs Cecilia Scottoreggio, wife of the beaten man, tells candidate Bryan how her husband was attacked. Bryan has offered a $500 reward for information leading to identification of the attackers.
