Ruth, a pert brunette from Columbus, Ohio, admits that Topping, wealthy socialite, sent her a mink coat and evidences surprise that anybody should be interested. Topping, testifying at the trial of Aaron Schwartz, charged with operating a gambling house, supposedly won some $3,000 last September. In court, he mentioned buying "a girl" a mink coat. Later, he lost his luck and dropped some $12,500 supposedly at Schwartz' establishing, stopping payment on his checks the next morning. Miss Waldo said she used to be secretary to the Mayor of Columbus, Ohio. Photo measures 6 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 01-20-1944.
