1944 Press Photo New York Robert J Glenn, GM of Gov Clinton Hotel cleans too NYC

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description

The Governor Clinton Hotel in NYC initiated an idea that should help to solve the manpower shortage, especially in hotels, where so much help is needed to keep everything in spic and span condition. The idea originated with Robert J Glenn, Gen Manager, who told the staff that they would get the same amount of exercise in cleaning up the hotel as they would if they chased a golf ball. Here Mr Glenn practices what he preached by polishing the brass name plate in front of the hotel. Photo measures 6 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 05-05-1944.
