Fort Dix NJ Worn military clothing, discarded by soldiers ass no loner wearable is seldom thrown away.The garments are turned in to Salvage Depot here where a staff is manitained to recondition garments and make them good as new again. All clothing brought to the Depot is carefully checked and sorted to see if it can be salvaged. Wearing apparel that is beyond repair is baled and stores in warehouses until it can be sold in quantity. Garments that can be renovated are placed in to be repaired pile and sent to warehouse for repair staff alter& make wearable again. Men in the service, ass well as civilians are employed at the Salvage Depot. Sgt Vito Barosa repairs a shoe as Colonel Carl A Loeb head of Salvage Depot looks on.About a 1000 shoes are repaired daily
