Eglin AFB in Florida In dramatic photo the parachute of Charles J Dye (arrow) begins to collapse as he falls toward the chute of Sgt Marvin O Smith. A split second later Dye plummeted past Sgt Smith, who reached out and caught Dye's chute. Sgt Smith of Huntsville, Ala has been recommended for the Soldier's Medal for his alert action in saaving his comrades life.
