1946 Press Photo Supplies aboard Army Transport to drop to American survivors

Supplies including a jeep are loaded aboard one of the rescue planes which left Orly Field November 21 and 22 to drop the needed supplies to the 12 American survivors of a crashed C-53 transport in the Swiss Alps. Veteran Swiss mountain climbers battled through Alpine snow and ice November 23 to reach the Americans who have been marooned for four days on a barren glacier.
