Major Walter Harris of Glenn Ridge, NJ gets an additional reward from his youngsters, Emmylou, 6 (left) and Rutland, 10 after the Marine Officer and four other Leathernecks received Legion of Merit Medals at a Pentagon Ceremony today for heroism in North Korean and Chinese Prison Camps. The marines as Prisoners of the Communists defied torture and threats of death and refused to confess germ warfare. Note that the boy is holding his father's medal.
