Developing techniques learned in the Korean War, where the value of rescue from land and sea by helicopter has been proved. A British team carries out an experimental rescue with a Bristol type Sycamore plane. The rescuer, seated in a "Bo' Sun's Chair," secures the rescued man with a webbing loop passed under his armpits. They are then hoisted aloft to the 'copter. The ships have been used with success by American and British Troops and seamen and have been orders by the Australian Navy.
