1947 Press Photo Greek Premier Sophoulis shakes hands with crew of the PINDOS

Athens, Greece -- Themistocles Sophoulis, 85-year-old prime minister of Greece, is shown shaking hands with members of the crew of the Greek destroyer PINDOS after he boarded the war ship for a fast trip to Salonika. The aged Premier is now making a tour of northern Greece to inspect units of the Greek Army fighting in operational zones against guerrillas. The tour was considered a signal for an all-out drive to stamp out anti-government military action.
