1933 Press Photo Boy Scout officers tie knots during the executive conference

Launching into the second year of a ten year program to recruit 25 percent of all 12 year old boys to the ranks of the boy scout of America, the 12th Region Scout executive conference opened October 31st at Santa Monica California. About 100 executives from Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California attended above. Some of the Scouts enjoy a knot tying competition. Left to right: Ralph Worsley of San Rafael County California, tying the knots, Lew Roberts of Salt Lake City and Wes Klusman of Los Angeles are the judges, Bob Hill of Santa Monica is the referee and Byron Hovey hold the watch as timer.
