1962 Press Photo Astronaut Scott Carpenter hoisted from Life Raft at Atlantic

Astronaut Scott Carpenter is hoisted from his life raft into a twin jet helicopter spending some three hours bobbing in the Atlantic near his mercury spacecraft. Carpenter Land almost 250 miles past his target area.
