Signalman, second class, Jack Melily, of Brooklyn New York (left) helps Chief Quartermaster Joseph Roberti, also of Brooklyn as the latter plots course for the ship, a destroyer on patrol in Caribbean waters near the new United States Naval Base at Santa Lucia, it was similar destroyer, the USS Blakeley, that was torpedoed and damaged while on patrol duty in the same Caribbean waters, May 25th.

Photo is dated 1942.
