1959 Press Photo U.S Navy Torpedo man John Eugene Hernandez maintain Iron Lungs

Houston Texas: Making the switch from the Business of taking Lives saving them former U.S Navy Torpedoman John Eugene Hernandez is still working with the equipment very similar in outward appearance. Hernandez shown at a torpedo tube aboard a submarine served in the Navy for 33 years. Now he helps maintain Iron Lungs. Which took very much like the torpedo tubes. The Difference between them however is one of the life and death. Hernandez works at the Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research and Organization supported by the National Foundatio.
