Description
Maxwell Field, Alabama.-- About seven months ago these men came into the Southeast Air Corps training center to sign up as flying cadets. Ten weeks passed ,and the men in question found themselves still on the qualified list following a steady diet of infantry drill and discipline dished out by regular Air Corps officers. Forty percent of the class had "washed out" at this stage. From primary to basic and the goal of a commission and its accompanying $205 to $345 a month in view. This goal is now insight as the cadets complete their program at Maxwell Field, Advanced flying school and headquarters for the entire training center. The training center will have 25 schools booming by November 1, thus will the nation's pilot production be stepped up gradually from the 12,000 to the 30,000 a year program. It's slogan is also its firm resolve: to "Keep Em Flying!"

Photo is dated 1941.
