1953 Press Photo Ronald Stone looks at Hazel McCarty After She Finds His Dad

Cpl. Ronald Stone, who has never seen his father, looks wistfully at his aunt, Mrs. Hazel McCarty, and the sheaf of correspondence through which Mrs. McCarty successfully endeavored to locate Ronald's dad, finding him in Erie, Pa. To Ronald it is a case of "so near and yet so far" for unless he can get someone to officially intercede for him and quick, he sails for the Orient for a three year hitch on Aug. 7th. Ronald's mother died during his last oversea's hitch in 1950.
