1938 Press Photo Guards stand guard outside Italian Consulate in Tunis

Armed mobile guards on duty outside the Italian Consulate in Tunis, following Italian and French demonstrations and counter demonstrations concerning the question of the ceding of Tunisia to Italy by France. The scaffolding on the building was erected to enable workmen to remove ink thrown at pro-French demonstrators.
