1942 Press Photo Tripoli Major Supply Base in Rear of Rommel's Defeated Army

Description
A target of the U.S. Eastward Drive in Africa, is Tripoli, the major supply base in the rear of Rommel's defeated Army. Pres Roosevelt's message to the Bey of Tunis that the AEE hopes to pass through Tunisia, indicates that allied forces will utilize Tripoli in a pincers movement with the Imperial 8th Army forming the other arm of the trap. From Algerian Beachheads, American troops are reported already on the march toward the vital Libyan backdoor.
