1945 Press Photo Colonel Harold Hartney, Sr Accepts Air Medal for Son

Washington, DC - Col Robert C Wimsatt, commanding officer of Bolling Field, presents the Air Medal to Col Harold E Hartney Sr, (inactive) which was merited by his son Harold E Hartney Jr who has been missing in action since May 13, 1944, while on a mission over Germany. Col Hartney Sr, who now resides in Washington, DC, was commanding officer of the 1st pursuit group of which Eddie Rickenbacker was a member during World War I.
