Croydon, England - Britain's two "Biggest Noises," Walter (Seven-Mile Voice) Abbott (right), of Lyme Regis, Dorset, present champion town crier of England, and F. Welch, of Bridgeport, Dorset, known as the handsomest town crier, who is a former champion, "Tune up" at Croydon to defend their rule of the sound waves against the challenge by Mrs. Evelyn Hamilton, 32 year old cyclist, who claimed she could make more noise than they could. As Croydon has for some time been waging a war on undue noise, the competition caused much misgiving. The are said to have successfully defended their noisy title.
