1959 Press Photo Car Wreckage of San Francisco's Giants' Manager Bill Rigney

Berkeley, CA.....This is the car which San Francisco Giants' Manager Bill Rigney, 41, drove into a power pole early 2/8 when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Rigney suffered a fractured jaw and his wife, Paula, 38, suffered a fractured hip. Police said Rigney and Mrs. Rigney admitted drinking before the accident but no citation was issued.
