1938 Press Photo Flood caused by heavy rains forced Rockford residents to flee

An all day heavy rain storm forced creeks and rivers in Northern Illinois to raise near the flood stage and the residents in the low lands to leave their homes. Photo shows residents of Rockford, Ill. leaving home in boat as policemen who patrol section look on from their boat.
