1940 Press Photo John Thornberry receives gold pin for being chosen in lottery

John Orme Thornberry, one of the young men who held number 158, the first one drawn in the draft lottery, receiving a gold pin in the form of a number one from four Roxyettes appearing at the Earl Theater in Washington. It was part of ceremonies at which high officials of the Selective Service Board and a group of men who held the number 158 were given the number one pins in Washington on Nov 2nd.
