1946 Press Photo Joan Smith named "Miss Stardust of 1946" and wins cash prize

Blue eyed Joan Smith, 19 of Bellmore, Long Island, was voted "Miss Stardust of 1946" in the annual nationwide contest to select the most photogenic girl. Contest attracted a top entry of 20,000. Joan wins $500 in cash a week's vacation in New York and a modelling contract with Walter Thornton.
