Navy Wives Follow Fleet Hundreds of young wives of Navy men are thronging every boat, train and other means of conveyance to the East Coast since the U. S. Battle Fleet left Los Angeles, Calif., April 9, on its trip to the Atlantic, where it will be based for the next eight months, Mrs. L. W. Smythe (Above), wife of a flying officer of the aircraft carrier Saratoga, is shown on the liner Santa Teresa sailing from Lost Angeles for the East.
