1939 Press Photo Reverend Homer F Kellems and Daughter Vivienne Sail Pandora

Description
In Seattle, Washington, Reverend Kellems, 45, Oklahoma rancher, adventurer and evangelist, and his daughter, Vivienne, 21, plot a "Northwest passage" circuit of the North American continent in their 38-foot vessel, the Pandora. From here, they sail to San Francisco, then through the Panama Canal to New York, thence back to Seattle by way of the Arctic ice pack. They will carry fuel and food to last 15 months on their projected 2,300 mile cruise.
