Three of the Nation's top speedboat drivers killed 6/19/66 during the 35th Annual President's Cup Regatta on the Potomac River. Rex Manchester, driving "Notre Dame," and Don Wilson, piloting "Miss Budweiser," are shown colliding in this sequence as they battle for the lead at speeds approaching 170 miles per hour in the third heat. Both were pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. Earlier Ron Musson, driving " Miss Bardahl," was injured fatally after his radical design hydroplane disintegrated when its nose dipped into the water.

Photo is dated 1966.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
