Senator Robert Taft, Republican Ohio, is shown at his press conference today where he told reporters that he still considered it the responsibility of President Truman to decide whether the European situation justified a special session of Congress. Shortly afterwards at the White House, President Truman announced that he would call a special session. Photo measures 7 x 8.75 inches. Photo is dated 10-23-1947.
