1944 Press Photo Wife of Colonel Dyess at Army Hospital Colonel Is A Patient

Mrs. Marajen Stevick Dyess, Champaign, Illinois, widow of Lieutenant Colonel William Erwin Dyess, Battai escaped hero who was later killed in an airplane crash in California just prior to returning to the battle areas. The photograph was taken last September at an Army Base Hospital in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where the Colonel was recuperating.
