Two Argentine soldiers, chilled by the frigid weather, keep a close check on happenings in the street as they take temporary refuge from cold in a tavern here June 28th. The Argentine Army announced that President Arturo Illia had resigned June 27th, and Illia left the Argentine "white house" early June 28th escorted by a group of civilian supporters. It was not certain immediately whether Illia was leaving the official residence voluntarily or under military orders, nor was it clear where he was going.

Photo is dated 1966.

Photo measures 6.75 x 10 inches.
