Left to right: Joseph D. Ward, Seaman le.; Chief Boatswain's Mate Shipley Cornelius; Boatswain's Mate George Hebert; and Boatswain's Mate John Balma scrape ice from skiff used in rescue operations during a freak flood in the Chagrin River. Quick thaw and a half-mile long ice jam were responsible for the river flooding.

Photo is dated 1946.
