1947 Press Photo Mrs Frances Ramirez Abandons Baby Then Reclaims Him in Chicago

Ramirez, 22, sobs as she tells police of abandoning her 13-month-old son at a movie because she had no one to care for him. Overcome with remorse, she went to St. Vincent's Orphanage to claim the child, and is now being held on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
