Kaskaskia, Illinois - The approximate route of George Rogers Clark's winter trip across southern Illinois during the Revolutionary War is being followed by a group of students and a history teacher, William P. Garrison, from University School on the Indiana University campus in Blooming, Indiana. The hikers, with three pack horses, left Kaskaskia and hope to cover in ten days Clark's route to Vincennes, where he captured old Fort Sackville from the British and gained the Midwest for the Americans.

Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches.
