Dr. Edward Papik, left and nurse Bertha Mulhern, right, vaccinate three girls at the Fred Harvey Commissary. Precaution was taken after a dining-car employee on the Santa Fe railroad working out of the commissary was found to have smallpox. The girls are, from left, Virginia King, Mildred Robinson, and Virginia Jagodzinski. All the employees of the commissary and residents in the Chicago building where the victim lives will be vaccinated.

Photo is dated 1947.
